Halftone

We spoke to Sam Baker today (lecturer of Graphic Design at Centreal St.Martins) and he helped us realise the effect I have been hoping to add to the background to make it look like the 50's adverts by trying to recreate the 'circles in the printing' ontop of the textures as you can see in the advert below.


now we know what the 'circles' are called - Halftone, which has to do with the printing techniques, we can try and recreate it in the textures backgrounds in the film, something I had been keen to try out. Below is a test, just using a digital photo. Itworks quite well, but will need some tweaking. But thanks to Sam as now we know what it is. :D
